Savigny
A workshop situated outside Paris in Savigny-sur-Orge best known for producing signed velvet pile carpets in the 1930’s from designs by Ivan da Silva Bruhns (1881 – 1980). The finest examples equal the velvet pile quality of the historic Savonnerie carpets. The most well known examples are those carpets supplied to decorate Manik Bagh, the palace of the Maharajah of Indore.
