19th 20th Century
This period saw textiles mass produced by power driven looms, and textile art devalued. Previously the preserve of the wealthy or leisured, textiles suddenly became ubiquitous. Original works were produced during the Gothic Revival, Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau and Modernist movements.
