Flame Stitch Point d'Hongrie
The zigzag motifs found on flame stitch fabrics certainly go back to the 16th century and even earlier, medieval times. In the 17th century there was a vogue for these vibrant designs, especially for use as wall and bed hangings and to upholster furniture. These lively designs transformed dull interiors and are highly prized today.
